Conducting
detailed consultations with all relevant parties, throughout the
duration of a project. For example, the company believes that by
working with the statutory bodies and interested parties, (rather
than against them), the ultimate needs of the client will be far
better served;
Working as
a key team player, within large, multi-disciplinary teams. BCMESL
has, in several instances, been employed by a large international
environmental consultancy, (ERM), to undertake the role of an environmental
specialist ‘embedded’ within the engineering team during
the design/EIA phases of large multi-national oil and/or gas pipeline
projects. In this role, Brian Minshull worked remotely, (and often
in radically different time-zones), from the rest of the EIA effort,
in the design offices of the project engineering and/or client teams,
and facilitated the flow of all pertinent environmental data to
the engineering team, and all relevant engineering data to the EIA
team;
Understanding
the clients requirements, and the environmental implications of
the same, and managing both without compromising either the clients
wishes, or good environmental practice; and,
Ensuring that
the environmental practice of the ‘live’ project conforms
as closely as possible to the environmental principles of the same.
Such principles are typically established prior to construction
during the planning phases, and in some instances are created purely
to facilitate planning clearance. The company believes that in addition
to ensuring close adherence to the guidelines established during
the planning phases by good, ‘hands-on’ environmental
management during construction, the key to this is the careful understanding
of the project, and the preparation of environmental documentation
drafted specifically for the project, in conjunction with the project
team and statutory bodies and well in advance of construction.
Company Project Procedure
As Managing Director, each project is managed by Brian Minshull,
who is ultimately responsible for all aspects of that project and
liaises directly with the client. As appropriate, he will delegate
aspects of each project to associates, while retaining overall control
of the project. Final reports are checked and authorised by Brian
Minshull and the appropriate experts as required.
BCM Environs has its own in-house quality assurance procedures and
is developing these with the aim of obtaining ISO9002 registration
in the near future.
Company Health and Safety and Other Policy Statements
